Bay Captain Custom Credential Builder

What, Why, When, Who?

Bay Captain pulls on its professional experience, network, and licensing to qualify individuals to operate under various conditions. We can train and qualify individuals to operate specific vessels, in specific areas, under certain conditions, or/and with certain social parameters.

For example: A vessel owner wishes to have a group of captains trained to operate their vessel safely and within certain operating parameters. The owner desires only captain with 100 ton master licenses with radar endorsements. The vessel owner also wishes operators to perform certain preventative maintenance checks before leaving the dock, and maintain specific engine speeds and temps while underway. Bay Captain can review the vessel owner’s set of standards, train captains on those standards, vet the same captains for licensing, and test those captains on best maritime practices, area familiarization and vessel operations.

The intended result of the Bay Captain Custom Credentialing program is to ensure captains for hire have the skills and knowledge needed to operate any given vessel.

The outcome of the credentialing program is a certified document, watermarked, showing the document holder is credentialed in whichever specific way.

The image above shows a general sample of a Bay Captain Credential for the operations perameter of “McKinna 52 Operations and San Francisco Area of Operations.” In this example, the document holder “Captain Bradley Angle,” is certified by Bay Captain in that way.

In practice, a vessel owner or a charterer who needs a captain with such a credential, could browse the internet or BayCaptain.com and search for that exact credential name, at which point they would be directed, at least on this site, to any captain who has been qualified in such a way.
